I work best with people who want to get somewhere, or who feel seriously stuck where they are. You might have a clear goal, be going in circles, or be too close to a complex situation to see the whole of it clearly.
That might mean shifting something deeply personal, navigating change or a difficult relationship, building something, or leading people or an organisation. You do not need to have it figured out before you come.
I am a systemic facilitator, coach and trainer. I have worked across systemic therapy, psychology, organisations and startups, which means I can meet a question in the context it actually lives in. A business problem can stay a business problem.
What I care about most is making complex things clear without pretending they are simple. Expect warmth and patience, and now and then a question you were not expecting.
Ways of working
A systemic constellation is built around one thing: a question, a topic, a goal you want to move. We set it up and follow it as far as it is useful, which can be a single session or several: the interview, the constellation, and the integration afterwards. A constellations allows you to feel and understand at the same time. You put the parts of the question outside yourself, see how they sit together, and get a sense of what a different arrangement would be like, rather than only the idea that it could be different.
Systemic coaching is the longer shape. It is built around something you want to work towards, and we follow it over time: where you are, what has moved, what matters most now, what is in the way. Constellation work can be part of that, alongside conversation, exercises, mapping the systems you are in, and whatever else the process asks for.
Almost anything can come to either one. A decision, a relationship, grief, a block at work, a business that will not move, something you cannot name yet. I work systemically, which means we do not assume that what you bring begins and ends with you: we can look at you, a relationship, the family you come from, a team, an organisation, or the wider social and economic world you are part of. The level that matters depends on what you bring, and I adapt the approach to your needs.
Working together
You bring an issue or a question you want to explore, and a goal to work towards. Neither has to be polished. We start by getting clear on what you want to move towards: what that would mean, what would be different, and how you would know something had changed.
From there we explore. We might talk it through, use an exercise, or set up a constellation and work with what happens in it. We follow where your experience takes us rather than deciding in advance where the answer should be. You might arrive certain the difficulty is your manager and find that what moves is something much older.
A constellation gives us another way in. You can put the situation outside you, see how it fits together, and work with what you feel as well as what you understand. It lets a session get past knowing that something could be different, to a sense of what different would actually be like. You can do that with a relationship without the other person present, and it still moves.
Some things are easier to place in a room than to put into a sentence.
You set the direction. I bring the questions, the connections I notice, and other ways of looking at it, and you decide what to do with them. We close with time to settle before you go back into your day.
The method I bring to your session is the one I teach to the people who facilitate it elsewhere. I co-founded the institute that trains them, and it runs on a curriculum we wrote ourselves.

About Simon
I was born in Belgium, where I live with Cecilia and our young son. Away from the practice I play music, and I love long walks with the dog, running in nature, and reading. I get creative in the kitchen, and I am usually exploring some new idea.

Scope and safety
Sessions support change in how you live, relate and decide. They sit alongside medical and psychological care, and they do not replace it.
If you are in crisis right now, or you are having thoughts of harming yourself, please turn first to your doctor, to a crisis line where you live, or to the emergency services. If you are being treated for a psychiatric condition, or you have questions about medication, that care belongs with your prescriber, and our sessions can run alongside it.
If you are unsure where to start, ask us. We will tell you honestly whether this is the right support for you now.
