About the practice
The person, within the system
Our logo begins with the symbol for a person in a genogram, the family tree used in systemic work and in family constellations. It reflects how we work: the client stays at the centre, while we look at the relationships and systems around them.
The shape changes because the approach does too. We choose between methods to fit the person in front of us, rather than asking the person to fit the method.
Where it started
A practice built on years in the room
Cecilia opened the practice in 2010. From the beginning, the practice was client-centred: listening closely, working at the client's pace, and choosing an approach around the person rather than starting with a fixed method. Simon was closely involved behind the scenes from the early years.
The practice grew through the sessions themselves. Years with clients brought different approaches together and made the wider system increasingly important: what happens to one person often makes more sense when you can also see the relationships, history and circumstances around them. Teaching came later. What eventually became a training programme had first been developed through years of practice.
The institute behind it
The training they had been looking for
EISEC began in 2017, when Cecilia taught the first training group. By then she had spent years learning across the field, returning to practitioners whose work she valued and encountering very different ways of teaching constellations. Some trainings were short; others offered extensive experience of constellations but much less explanation of what the facilitator was doing and why. Cecilia and Simon founded EISEC together to build the training they had been looking for: one in which you learn to run constellations you can feel, understand, explain and apply.
EISEC is the European Institute for Systemic Education and Coaching. Cecilia and Simon co-founded it, and Cecilia directs it today. The institute and the practice remain closely connected: the teaching grows from practice, and every practitioner offering family constellations here has trained through EISEC to the same standard.
How we work
Client-centred, systemic and embodied
We start with the person in front of us: your experience, your question and what you want from a session. But we do not assume that what is happening begins and ends with you. Family, relationships, work, culture and personal history can all be part of understanding what is happening now.
The whole picture
A pattern that makes little sense on its own can look very different once you see the system around it. A role in a family, a way of keeping the peace, a relationship, or something learned much earlier may still be shaping what happens today. Systemic work helps us see those connections without reducing everything to a single cause.
Body and mind together
Understanding something is not always enough to change it. We also pay attention to what happens in the body: tension, movement, breath, sensation and the response of the nervous system. Different methods work with this in different ways. We adapt the way we work to the person, the question and what becomes useful as the session develops.
Where we are
A practice based in Brussels
The practice is based in the European quarter of Brussels, a short walk from Schuman station. Sessions also run online across time zones, while our weekend workshops and annual intensive take place here in Brussels.
